About Team
Stange Racing

Team Stange Racing was established in 2012 and is owned by businessman John Stange, Jr. The TSR story began with the purchase of the Larry Clement Racing Championship NASCAR ARCA Series Team. At the time, the team was led by Travis Carter and located in Denver, NC. The team moved to Chicago and was reorganized by Short Track star Dave Welmeyer and John Stange, Jr. to compete in the 2014 ARCA Menards Championship. Maryeve Dufault was hired to drive the #46 Ford Hot Rod in select races. The Number 47 Ford Team was created for select races with Buster Graham and Christian Celeya behind the wheel. The team tested many drivers during the year, such as the highly talented open-wheel racer Shannon McIntosh.

In 2015 the team made the move to the extremely popular NASCAR K&N East and West Series and made the manufacturers change to Chevrolet. TSR  ran two programs with Christian Celeya behind the wheel of car number 45 and Mike Senica behind the wheel of car 47. A full-time test team was created to develop drivers and new automotive products with the hopes of making their way to NASCAR.

In 2016 the team returned to Ford and the ARCA Menards Championship for the Daytona 200, the biggest race of the season for the series. With 9-time ARCA championship driver Frank Kimmel driving the famous number 46 Ford to a 4th place finish in one the most exciting finishes at Daytona to date. The team ran John Gustafson, son of Hendrick Motorsports Ace crew chief Alan Gustafson in the Greenville Pickens NASCAR K&N Race.

The team was contracted to test and develop a specialized extra strength lubricant during 2016 and 2017 and prepared to move the team to the high-profile IndyCar Series.

The team made the move to IndyCar in 2019 competing in the 2019 Indianapolis 500 with Driver Oriol Servia. The team qualified the Number 77 Honda to a starting position of 19th and finished 22nd in the fast field of 33. TSR secured a multi-year sponsorship agreement for 2020 through 2022, but the COVID-19 Pandemic caused the sponsor to cancel their plans of their U.S.A. launch which caused the cancellation of the sponsorship contract.

In 2022 TSR was back in full swing competing full-time in the Brazilian GT Sprint Race Series, with the number 77 Dignity Gold Ford Mustang. They won 3 races and finished 5th in the overall championship, with drivers Pedro Costa, Leo Torres, Dudu Barrichello, Felipe Baptista, and Ricardo Sperafico bringing the team its first win of the Brazilian GT Sprint Race Series at Santa Cruz Do Sul on March 22, 2022. Team Stange Racing, together with Tarso Marques Concepts, negotiated the Naming rights and series sponsorship with the GT Sprint Race Series for 2022, officially naming the series the “Dignity Gold GT Sprint Race Series.” The Series was bought by NASCAR in the fall of 2022 and is now known as the NASCAR BRASIL Sprint Race series.

For the 2023 season, Team Stange Racing has developed a NASCAR Cup team and is bringing Formula 1, IndyCar, Endurance Car Veteran, celebrity car builder, and owner of TMC (Tarso Marques Concepts) to NASCAR to pilot the number 79 Dignity Gold rocket.
